Richard Boulanger first studied at the Montreal Conservatory where he finished with a diploma in piano (Yvonne Hubert’s class), music history and chamber music. After a one year internship with pianist Karl Engel in Germany, he perfected is skills for six years with renowned teacher Nadia Boulanger in Paris. During his stay in Paris, he also enrolled at la Sorbonne where he obtained a doctorate in musicology.
M. Boulanger, while teaching piano and music history, regularly plays has soloist or accompanist and act as a judge in many festivals across Canada. Furthermore, he is the author of a book entitled “Les innovations de Domenico Scarlatti dans la technique du clavier”.
